Broken Clouds

Clouds are really okay... not broken ... but not great when I tried taking this picture - a bit more interesting now that I'm sitting here typing this out.

My original plan here was to take occassional pictures of clouds while relaxing in the mornings in the hot tub. But the hot tub is broken and I've drained it for the season.

Also... the camera is broken. It works sometimes but the problem is the exposure blinks from dark to washed out and occassionally gets it right. I actually had to brighten this one with IrfanView even to demostrate what the camera does.

This picture also demonstates something else. It was taken from where I'm sitting at the computer. I was just thinking that since I'm not going to be taking pics from the hot tub for a while I thought maybe I could take some of the clouds from here. I do have a good place for the computer which affords me with a great view of a good chunk of sky framed with some nice trees. I've enjoyed many moments watching the weather change, seeing great dark clouds and flashes of lightning before I figuring its getting too close and I need to shut the computer down.

I might still do some cloud shots here but so far the clouds have not compelled me to do so yet. Perhaps its the angle. Something about looking straight up at them while laying on your back adds a bit of magic to them I think.

Also each time I think of taking one I realize I need to wash the window. The outside. But its a bit high and I don't do them except twice a year. The time is coming and then with the spots gone I might begin to see some good cloud pictures to share.

In the meantime I might share another of the treasures of my "perch". Its nice to look up from the computer screen and take in a glimpse of the garden and back yard. Nothing unusual or particularly outstanding about it. But sometimes something interesting catches my eye "outthere" while sitting and computing in here. So I've decided to create another blog for such things... "The Way I See It"

This is my favorite from the Seemless Pictures shown by Carpe Crustulum. Thanks to him for some great viewing pleasure.

Fluffy Head Trips

Yesterday I renewed a very nice morning ritual of going out and sitting in the hot tub while eating my oatmeal and orange juice breakfast. Laying in the warm water and looking up, I was amazed at the simple beauty and intriguing nature of the clouds that paraded overhead.

I thought they were amazing.

This morning I went out again after glancing out the kitchen window with a bit of disappointment at seeing the sky moslty covered with clouds and thinking they couldn't possibly be as interesting as yesterday's.

But, I was immediately surprised to find in the general covering intricate puzzle like patterns. Within just a minute or two that whole system of cloud cover was gone and others were in their place. I was amazed at how fast they came and went on such a calm morning and at the variety of kinds of clouds I saw. I finally decided (too late for the best) to go in for the camera.
